At Nova Spine & Wellness Clinic we offer many different types of massage:
- Deep tissue massage
- Sports massage
- Reflexology
- Swedish massage
- Indian head massage
- Facial massage
- Hot stone massage
We cater especially for those who require or would like to have regular sessions and our prices start from as little as £35 for half hour massage.
If you know exactly what type of massage you wish to have you can let us know when booking your session. However, please do not worry, if you don’t know the difference between the various types of massage. The important thing is that the massage should help relieve your tense, aching muscles, relax you and promote detoxifying and healing processes in your body. You can simply let the therapist know on the day, what you would like her/him to work on and she/he will apply the best techniques to address your individual needs and health issues.
The massage therapist will always check with you what kind of pressure works for you best and you can always ask during the therapy to concentrate more on those muscles that give you the most trouble.
Massage therapy is a fantastic healing and relaxation tool. It is especially effective when received regularly.
At Nova we offer great discounts for those who require regular massage. These fantastic discounts apply to all therapies listed below (except sports massage).

Deep tissue massage
A highly targeted massage that is brilliant for alleviating tension in muscles and for relieving pain that has come about from over-exertion or injury. Pressure is applied and long massage strokes are used, not dissimilar from Swedish massage therapy. Deep tissue massage is also preventative: it can help to open up the oxygen flow so that nutrients travel freely, avoiding the build up of toxins and potential inflammation. It can also help to heal scar tissue from old injuries.
Swedish massage
Swedish massage is a blissfully relaxing full body massage which takes into account your whole being as well as soothing away any aches and pains you might have. It’s excellent for alleviating stiffness in the muscles and aiding recovery after injuries which probably explains why this form of massage is extremely popular with athletes. It’s also a good starting point for anyone who is new to massage. You can look forward to improved circulation and increased flexibility after the Nova Swedish massage and an overall feeling of well-being.
Sports massage
Athletes have been turning to this form of massage for centuries. Our Nova sports massage not only speeds up recovery after training sessions, it also increases suppleness and strength which in turn prevents future injury. We can focus on certain muscle areas but at the same time the benefits are holistic: our sports massage will help you to perform like a professional. And yes, we are also pleased to count professional sports people among our regular clients.
Aromatherapy massage
Our aromatherapy massage is a delightfully restorative and aromatic experience. We use essential oils made from natural plant essences chosen according to how you feel – and how you would like to feel. So we might use eucalyptus oil if your head and chest have been feeling congested; or tangerine oil is ideal if you’ve been feeling low in energy. Lavender helps with relaxation, and peppermint is known to help alleviate sore muscles. We mix the essential oils with a base oil such as sweet almond, and of course we will discuss with you what we use – you may have your own preferences. What you can expect is total, blissful relaxation, with many benefits including increased energy, clearer thinking, reduced anxiety and deep and restful sleep.
Indian head massage
This is a wonderfully relaxing massage that includes more than just your head! Our Indian head massage involves a series of gentle strokes, pressures and techniques on your scalp, neck shoulders and upper back. It is known to reduce headaches and alleviate aches, pains and tension in your neck, back and shoulders. An added bonus is that it can improve the texture of your hair, adding lustre and increasing growth! Indian head massage is hugely beneficial for anyone experiencing tension headaches and stress.
Hot stone massage
This is a deliciously warming and detoxifying massage using smooth heated stones that are placed on specific pressure points on the spine. The warmth combined with massage strokes helps any tension to melt away. It is also the perfect treatment for treating isolated injuries. The stones can have a sedative effect which makes this a deeply relaxing and restorative massage.
Facial Massage
Our facial massage uses many of the techniques that we practise in our Indian head massage. We also incorporate methods originating from Japanese facial massage. This treatment stimulates the lymphatic system and it can also help to eliminate toxins. It is a highly soothing experience and there are many benefits: brighter, tighter skin, a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, improved muscle tone, and an overall boost to your energy and sense of wellbeing.
Reflexology
Reflexology is a treatment based on applying pressure to specific reflex points on the feet which correspond to our vital organs. It is deeply relaxing and can create a welcome feeling of calm and wellbeing. Reflexology can ease pain, boost our immune system and it is successful in helping with migraine, pre-menstrual symptoms, stress and tension, digestive problems and fertility. This treatment is suitable for everyone, including babies and children. If you would like to restore your body to its natural balance, why not try reflexology at Nova?
